The second phase of the “IT Park” project has been launched.

On October 21, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the IT Park located in the Mirzo Ulugbek district of Tashkent and took part in the foundation-laying ceremony for the second phase of the project.

Two years ago, the first phase of the project was implemented with an investment of $200 million. On an area of nearly 4 hectares, six 20–25-story office buildings and a modern congress hall were constructed.

All the necessary conditions have been created here for specialists, and incubation and acceleration programs have been established to support promising startup projects. Projects in information technology, fintech, logistics, e-commerce, e-education, biotechnology, and other areas are being successfully implemented.

Currently, the number of IT Park residents has reached 3,200 companies, employing more than 14,000 specialists. Last year, these residents provided services worth $1.6 billion, and by the end of this year, that figure is expected to exceed $2.5 billion.

For the first time, the export volume is projected to surpass the $1 billion mark.

According to the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy, the goal is to create high-income jobs for over 300,000 young people in the field of information technology. Foreign experts estimate that Uzbekistan’s potential in artificial intelligence alone could reach $10 billion.

“I am confident that this major complex, the foundation of which we are laying today, will play an important role in achieving our ambitious goals and in further strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and investors,” said the President.

According to the project, the IT Park territory will be expanded by 1.5 times. In partnership with Saudi Arabia’s “Data Volt” company, a $150 million data center with a capacity of 12 megawatts will be built. In the next stages, an additional $3 billion will be invested to increase capacity to 500 megawatts.

In addition, the complex will include six new buildings — an Artificial Intelligence Center, Centers for Space and Future Technologies, two 20-story office towers, and service and trade centers.

In short, this complex will become an “Artificial Intelligence Hub”, based on the most advanced technologies, innovations, and knowledge.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev placed a capsule and officially launched the construction of the second phase of the IT Park project.
