Cooperation Between the Qualification Systems of Uzbekistan and Türkiye

On 17 November, a delegation of the National Qualification Development Institute of Uzbekistan paid a visit to the Vocational Qualification Authority of the Republic of Türkiye (Mesleki Yeterlilik Kurumu – MYK), an institution with extensive experience in the field of qualifications. On the first day of the visit, a meeting was held between MYK President Mr. Aşkın Tören and the Institute’s Director Mr. A. Allabergenov. The meeting was highlighted as a continuation of the fruitful initiatives and friendly relations established by the leaders of both countries and an important first step in strengthening cooperation between the two qualification systems.

During the meeting, the MYK President provided information on the current state of Türkiye’s qualification system. It was noted that Türkiye has developed 937 occupational standards and 694 national qualification standards to date, and that 267 qualification assessment centers are currently operating across the country. Additionally, MYK has issued 3.2 million qualification certificates to applicants so far.

In continuation of the discussions, the Director of the Institute delivered a presentation on the ongoing practical activities within Uzbekistan’s National Qualification System. The presentation covered the work of sectoral councils, the process of developing occupational standards, as well as the Institute’s achievements and strategic plans.
