The event is being held within the framework of the EU-funded “DARYA” project and aims to enhance systems for professional qualifications. This three-day seminar brings together major employers, education-sector specialists, and international experts for substantive discussions and exchange of practical experience.
Representatives of the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System of Uzbekistan and sectoral councils are actively participating in all sessions.
During the first day, the results of the pilot project on developing regional occupational standards initiated by Central Asian countries were presented. Within this project, occupational profiles (standards) were developed in the following priority areas:
• Tourism
• Construction
• Transport and Logistics
These standards will serve as a basis for establishing a unified system of qualification requirements across Central Asian states. The approach will support the improvement of national occupational standards, the alignment of curricula with qualification requirements, and the comparison of qualifications at the regional level.
The session also covered issues related to harmonization with ESCO (European Skills, Competences and Occupations), integration processes among qualifications systems, and the development of cross-sectoral competence maps.
Experience of Italy and France
Participants are being introduced to the mechanisms used in Italy and France for developing, approving, and implementing occupational and qualification standards. Delegation members are also visiting vocational education centers in the Piedmont region to study training and practical learning processes on site.
A New Stage of Regional Cooperation
This seminar, organized within the framework of the DARYA project, is expected to strengthen cooperation among Central Asian countries in:
• harmonizing qualification recognition systems;
• developing modern competencies aligned with labor market needs;
• exchanging experience;
• enhancing regional labor mobility.
The project is recognized as an important regional platform that not only modernizes qualification systems but also contributes to economic stability, employment, and the development of human capital in Central Asia.
