Within the framework of the “Supporting Vocational Education Reforms in Uzbekistan” (VET4UZ) project, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Project Office of the “Center for Educational Projects”, the Tourism Committee, and HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation jointly organized an international conference on the theme “Skills for the Future: Strategies for Achieving Efficiency in Vocational Education.”
The event, held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Tashkent, gathered representatives of government bodies, vocational education institutions, employers, and international experts. Discussions were conducted in plenary and breakout sessions on a wide range of topics, including vocational education governance, improving quality in vocational training, public-private partnerships in dual education, and enhancing the professional capacity of teachers.
At the opening ceremony, alongside a number of international experts and organizational leaders, A. Khudaykulov, Director of the Project Office of the “Center for Educational Projects,” delivered his remarks. He emphasized the importance of vocational education for the national economy and highlighted the need to implement effective management in the system based on international experience. He also presented a series of analyses and proposals focusing on strategic reforms in vocational education.
In addition, N. Ergashev, Head of Division at the Project Office of the “Center for Educational Projects,” delivered a presentation at one of the breakout sessions on the topic of “Public-Private Partnership Principle in Dual/Vocational Education.”
Staff members of the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System also took part in the conference, contributing their perspectives on developing vocational standards and assessing qualifications based on employer requirements when designing vocational education programs.
Throughout the event, participants had the opportunity to receive answers to their questions, while gaining valuable insights into current reforms and future plans in the vocational education system.
