A meeting was held with the participation of the Director of the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System, Ravshan Ahmedov, representative of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and international expert Anke Boussena. The meeting was organized in connection with the international expert’s latest visit under the GIZ project entitled “Supporting the Reform and Modernization of the Vocational Education and Training System in Uzbekistan”. The project envisages the development of the dual vocational education and training system in Uzbekistan, particularly through the development of a certification mechanism for in-company trainers who provide workplace-based training. This mechanism will encompass an occupational standard, a professional development programme for trainers, assessment criteria, and a quality assurance system. During the meeting, the international expert presented the activities planned within the project. The parties discussed the approved structure of occupational standards and the requirements applicable to them, as well as the development of an occupational standard for in-company trainers. The discussions also covered qualification requirements for trainers, the regulatory and legal framework governing their activities, and Germany’s advanced experience in this area. The participants further considered the selection of master trainers from among those currently working as in-company trainers. In the future, these master trainers will help strengthen the professional capacity of other trainers by sharing their knowledge and practical skills. This cooperation is expected to contribute to improving the quality of workplace-based training, ensuring that in-company trainers operate in accordance with a unified occupational standard, and enhancing the system for training qualified specialists in line with labour market needs.
