The Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System hosted a two-day practical workshop dedicated to the development of the National Qualifications Standard. The workshop was organized as part of the second expert mission to Uzbekistan by UNESCO international expert Dana Stroie. The primary objective of the event was to enhance the methodology for developing the National Qualifications Standard in line with international approaches, while providing practical guidance on the design of learning outcomes and the development of corresponding assessment mechanisms. The workshop brought together members of the Working Group on the Development of the National Qualifications Standard, including representatives of the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System, the transport sector, and the Agency for the Development of Professional Education, as well as officials from the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and the Institute. Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in practical exercises on developing learning outcome units based on occupational standards, formulating learning outcomes, establishing appropriate assessment criteria, and ensuring their integration with the qualifications assessment system. In addition, discussions focused on modern approaches to the recognition of learning outcomes, the comparability of qualifications, and mechanisms for promoting international academic and professional mobility. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants developed practical approaches for drafting the National Qualifications Standard, integrating it with qualifications assessment mechanisms, and identifying priority areas for its effective implementation. The workshop represented an important practical step towards further advancing Uzbekistan's National Qualifications System in accordance with international standards, enhancing the transparency and comparability of learning outcomes, and strengthening the institutional framework necessary for the international recognition of national qualifications.
