Projects of New Occupational Standards for the Electrical Engineering and Machinery Industries Discussed

A seminar was held with the participation of an industry working group comprising representatives of the “UzEltechSanoat” Association, the Institute for Development of the National Qualifications System, and enterprises operating in the electrical engineering and machinery industries. The seminar focused on discussing the draft occupational standards planned for development in 2026.

The participants thoroughly reviewed issues related to conducting an inventory of positions and types of work activities existing at industry enterprises, analysing the structure of occupations, and defining and aligning job functions and tasks with current production processes.

The experts also put forward proposals concerning the classification of certain occupations and positions that are currently present in enterprises but are not reflected in the National Classifier of Occupations (MMK–2025). Particular attention was paid to reviewing these occupations and positions in line with labour market needs and modern technological processes.

The discussions placed particular emphasis on developing occupational standards that take into account the current and future needs of the industry, strengthening the link between the workforce training system and the labour market, and aligning qualification requirements with actual production processes.

The main objective of the seminar was to ensure that occupational standards serve not merely as regulatory documents, but as practical tools reflecting the real needs of enterprises, modern technologies and labour market requirements.

At the conclusion of the seminar, the industry working group identified priority tasks, agreed on the next stages of developing the occupational standards, and discussed mechanisms for further cooperation with relevant and interested organisations.
