A seminar-training session was organized with the participation of responsible officials from the Uzbekistan Agency for Technical Regulation and the Institute for the Development of National Qualifications under the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education. The event focused on the substance and significance of Resolution No. PQ-345 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the further development of the National Qualifications System, and the priority tasks of sectoral councils.

During the event, M. Qurbanova, Head of a Group at the Institute for the Development of National Qualifications, and F. Boltayev, a specialist at the Institute, provided information on the ongoing efforts to develop the National Qualifications System in Uzbekistan, the results achieved, the existing institutional framework, and key priorities for the future.

The participants also discussed the main responsibilities of the 24 sectoral councils currently operating in the country, their activities during the current year, and their role in training competitive professionals whose qualifications meet the needs of the labour market.

The seminar emphasized that ensuring close interlinkages between labour market forecasting, the National Qualifications Framework, sectoral qualifications frameworks, occupational and qualification standards, educational programmes, and qualification assessment and recognition processes is a key factor in the effective functioning of the National Qualifications System.

The event also reviewed the activities of the “Sectoral Council for the Development of Professional Qualifications in the Fields of Standardization and Technical Regulation.” Particular attention was paid to the development and improvement of modern occupational standards and their alignment with labour market needs and educational programmes.

It was noted that occupational standards serve as an important foundation for ensuring high-quality education, enhancing employees’ professional qualifications, and training competitive specialists who are in high demand in the labour market.
