A working meeting was held at the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System with the participation of Christian Wagner, Head of the “CHEBER: Skills Development in Kyrgyzstan” project implemented by the Swiss organization HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation, and Simone Strasburger, Head of the VET4UZ project in Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on the mechanisms introduced in Uzbekistan for the recognition of knowledge, skills and qualifications acquired through non-formal and informal learning, as well as the practical experience gained in this field.

The discussions also covered the organization of independent qualification assessment processes, existing assessment mechanisms, procedures and requirements for the accreditation of Qualification Assessment Centers, and further improvements to the system for recognizing the outcomes of non-formal and informal learning.

Particular attention was paid to the importance of international knowledge and experience sharing in the development of the National Qualifications System. Specifically, the participants explored opportunities to share Uzbekistan’s practical experience with Kyrgyzstan, improve qualification assessment and recognition mechanisms, and expand mutual cooperation.

The meeting provided an important platform for dialogue aimed at developing professional qualifications, exchanging experience in the recognition of non-formal and informal learning outcomes, and further strengthening international cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in this field.
