The latest expert mission involving international expert Michel Aribaud has concluded at the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System. The mission was conducted as part of a project implemented in cooperation with UNESCO. During the visit, the expert and members of the working group discussed ways to improve the prototype of the RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) system, as well as to adapt its procedures and assessment mechanisms to the National Qualifications System. Particular attention was paid to the use of portfolios, interviews, and on-the-job practical assessment (OPS) to evaluate the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired by candidates through their professional experience. The discussions also focused on strengthening the links between these assessment tools and refining the relevant assessment criteria. The participants also reviewed preparations for piloting the RPL prototype for the “Electric Locomotive Driver” qualification in the transport sector, identifying the necessary organizational and technical arrangements, and aligning assessment tools with the requirements of the occupational standard. Furthermore, proposals were considered for integrating the RPL system with existing qualification assessment and certification mechanisms, clarifying the responsibilities of the parties involved, and defining the next steps planned for October–November.
