Within the framework of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) project "Support for the Reform and Modernization of the Vocational Education System in Uzbekistan (TexVET-II)", a seminar on the topic "Enhancing the Capacity of Sectoral Councils" was held.

Representatives of the Institute for the Development of the National Qualification System, sectoral councils, and stakeholder organizations participated in this event.

During the seminar, the Institute presented a presentation on the current activities of sectoral councils, achieved results, and future plans, followed by discussions on increasing their efficiency.

International expert Paul Comyn delivered a lecture on the role and responsibilities of sectoral councils in professional skills development, as well as advanced international experiences.

Furthermore, the experience gained during the TexVET-I project in the textile, garment, and leather industries, specifically the active participation of employers in the process, was a focus of discussion.

As part of the seminar, participants worked in small groups to consider operational planning issues for sectoral council activities regarding the modernization of professional standards and educational programs for the dual education system.

At the conclusion of the event, specific proposals and recommendations were developed regarding the role of sectoral councils in developing the vocational education system, future priority tasks, and directions for effective cooperation.
