UNESCO Expert and Institute Discuss Future Development of the National Qualifications System A meeting was held at the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System with Ms. Dana Carmen Stroie, UNESCO International Expert on Technical and Vocational Education and Qualifications and Deputy Director of the National Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training Development of Romania. The meeting was attended by specialists of the Institute and representatives of UNESCO. During the discussions, the participants exchanged views on further improving Uzbekistan's National Qualifications System, ensuring its alignment with international standards, and introducing advanced international best practices. The following priority areas were discussed: 🔹 introducing the National Qualifications Register and establishing its modern digital infrastructure; 🔹 developing qualifications standards in pilot sectors and establishing mechanisms for their practical implementation; 🔹 applying methodologies for determining credit volumes within qualifications standards and incorporating international approaches in this area; 🔹 strengthening the linkage between learning outcomes, professional competencies, and labour market needs. At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reached important agreements on further developing Uzbekistan's National Qualifications System in accordance with international standards, introducing advanced international practices, and expanding future areas of cooperation.
