The primary objective of the seminar was to discuss the further development of the National Qualifications System in the mining and geology sector, review draft regulatory documents applicable to the industry, and consolidate proposals and recommendations from sector experts. During the event, participants conducted a comprehensive review of the draft regulatory documents entitled “Sectoral Tariff and Qualification Handbook” and “Procedure for Awarding Qualification Grades.” They also shared practical recommendations and expert opinions aimed at further improving these documents. In addition, specialists from the Institute provided detailed presentations on the National Qualifications System, highlighting its concept, strategic importance, and role in ensuring that the mining and geology sector, as well as other branches of the economy, is supplied with a highly qualified workforce that meets labour market demands. As part of the seminar, participants discussed proposals for including new occupations in the National Qualifications Classifier (NQC–2025), updating occupations undergoing modernization, and identifying occupations that are gradually becoming obsolete within the mining and geology sector. Furthermore, detailed information was provided on the procedure for awarding qualification grades, including assessment criteria, applicable regulatory requirements, and practical recommendations for the effective implementation of these mechanisms. At the conclusion of the seminar, it was emphasized that the proposals and recommendations put forward by participants would serve as an important basis for further improving sectoral qualifications, refining the relevant regulatory framework, and advancing the National Qualifications System in the mining and geology sector in line with international standards.A two-day seminar-training for members of the Sectoral Council was jointly organized by the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System.
