International seminar within the DARYA project: advanced experience and practical approaches May 14, 2026

On April 13-14 of this year, a two-day training seminar was organized within the framework of the DARYA (Developing and Applying a Regional Approach to Non-Formal and Informal Learning Validation in Central Asia) project.

This project is a regional initiative funded by the European Union, the main goal of which is the development of human capital in Central Asian countries, the formation of modern competencies, and the introduction of a system for the validation of non-formal and informal learning (VNFIL).

Representatives of five Central Asian countries – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, industry specialists, and international experts, as well as employees of the Institute for Development of the National Qualifications System and members of the sectoral council of the construction industry took an active part in the seminar.

During the seminar, priority issues such as the purpose and basic principles of the validation of non-formal and informal learning (VNFIL) system, the role, functions, and necessary competencies of assessment experts, institutional differences between the roles of assessor and consultant, European experience, and in particular, assessment approaches based on the Finnish model were analyzed.

During the sessions conducted by international, specifically Finnish experts, modern and innovative approaches were presented, and advanced methodologies were delivered to the participants.

The seminar was organized in an interactive form, and the processes of working with groups, case study analysis, and exchange of experience were effectively established.
