The meeting focused on the development of the National Qualifications System, enhancing the effectiveness of Sector Skills Councils, and reviewing the current progress of ongoing reforms in the field. During the meeting, participants reviewed the implementation of the tasks outlined in Resolution No. PQ-345 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, dated 30 September 2024, as well as Resolution No. 114 of the Republican Council meeting held on 18 December 2025. It was noted that systematic efforts are currently being carried out in cooperation with Sector Skills Councils to develop modern qualification requirements and professional standards for various sectors of the economy, ensure their practical implementation, improve the qualifications assessment system, and accelerate the digital transformation of the sector. To date, draft versions of 36 Sectoral Qualifications Frameworks, 228 Professional Standards, and 17 Qualifications Assessment Tools have been developed. In addition, 28 Sectoral Qualifications Frameworks and 128 Professional Standards covering 536 occupations have been officially approved and introduced into practice. Particular attention was paid to further improving the National Qualifications System, developing professional standards aligned with the evolving needs of the economy, expanding the qualifications assessment infrastructure, and strengthening mechanisms for the recognition of knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired by citizens through formal, non-formal, and informal learning, as well as practical experience. Among the key priorities for 2026 are the development of 305 Professional Standards covering more than 1,200 occupations, as well as the establishment and accreditation of 24 Qualifications Assessment Centres. At the conclusion of the meeting, priority tasks were identified to ensure the full-scale implementation of the National Qualifications System, strengthen the linkage between the education system and the labour market, effectively meet the demand of economic sectors for qualified personnel, and further advance human capital development.
